After close to 20 years, CHPTA’s Pam Winter is retiring at the end of June and we are inviting industry friends to join us for a lunch celebration on June 26th, 11:45 a.m. start, at the Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse – Morningside, 50 Cinemart Dr., Toronto, On M1B 3C3, which is near the 401 and Morningside Ave. If you are interested in attending, please email Sam Moncada at smoncada@chpta.ca
Pam started working at the CHHMA (now known as the CHPTA) in January of 2006. Over the close to 20 years, as an Event Coordinator and Office Administrator for the Association, Pam has seen a lot of changes during her time – from the early days when events were often overflowing with attendees to a new working relationship with COPA, to the challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic. Through it all, the Association has persevered.
“It has been a pleasure working for the Association over these past 19+ years. I’ve worked for, and with, some wonderful people including Maureen Hizaka, Vaughn Crofford, Sam Moncada, Nicole Gamble, Michael Jorgenson and Henry Wong,” Pam remarked. “Getting to know the members over the years, and putting faces to names at events, has been a highlight as well. There are too many individual members to name, but a few I would like to acknowledge and thank for their input and support over the years are Bryan Gilbart, Glenn Beattie, Peter Stojanov, Doug Whaley, Mark Travers, Steve Barker, Denise Deacon, Krista Hamilton, Randy Drehman, Chris Foss, Stephen Ceolin, Rick Kenny, Andrea Heffernan, Andy Mascarenhas and Chris Caldwell,” she added.
Full retirement is going to be another big change. “I’m not used to sitting still, so I’m going to have to sign up for some local classes and programs to help keep me occupied,” Pam said. Once her husband Ron retires in the near future, they look forward to travelling across Canada and visiting parts of the country they have not yet seen. Twelve grandchildren will also be keeping Pam and Ron busy with lots of hockey, soccer and dance events to go to.
In the end, Pam said working for CHHMA-CHPTA and COPA, has been about making efforts to help and support the members in any way we could. Through all the ups and downs, it has been a rewarding time.
