RONA inc. informed vendors last week that two RONA stores in Ontario will be closing this November.  The stores identified are:

  • RONA Belleville store located at 260 Bell Boulevard. Customers will be able to continue to shop with RONA at RONA+ Belleville (currently Lowe’s Belleville).
  • RONA H&G London store located at 820 Blythwood Road. Customers will be able to continue to shop with RONA at two RONA+ London stores (currently Lowe’s NW and SW London stores).

“In an effort to improve our impact on the market, we recently conducted an in-depth analysis of our network in Ontario and have reviewed our store footprint where some locations were in close proximity to one another. As a result, the [above named stores] will be closing their doors on November 16, 2023 and we will consolidate their retail and Pro activities at neighbouring stores, where the teams will keep serving local homeowners and professionals with renewed passion and dedication.

Through this change, our goal is to enhance how RONA serves Canadians by focusing our efforts on stores that are in the best position to meet all of our customers’ home improvement and construction needs,” RONA wrote to suppliers.

These two store closure announcements come after previous news that the Lowe’s Vaughan, Ontario store will also be closing shortly.

RONA inc. is in the process of converting the Lowe’s banner across Canada over to a new RONA + banner.  Twenty-five of these stores in Ontario have, or are in the midst, of this conversion.

“We are convinced that our long-term strategy, which includes the launch of the new RONA+ banner, will be beneficial for all our stakeholders as we create more visibility for and excitement around the RONA brand,” RONA inc. added in the communication.
