The best learning experience of 2020 is here!
Making Waves is back for a second year. In order to ensure the safety of our members and industry colleagues, CHHMA & COPA have made the decision to make this year’s event a virtual event with ten speaker presentations via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday during November at 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. ET.
Learn from industry experts as they share their experiences through these insightful presentations. Participants can register either for an all access pass which will enable you to join all of the educational sessions, or register individually for the sessions that best suit your learning goals.
Cybersecurity Awareness and You
Kick off the event with this keynote presentation from Danny Pehar on November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. ET. With more than 20 years’ experience in the cybersecurity industry, Danny Pehar has become one of the industry’s foremost experts, providing awareness to Fortune 500 companies, working with the FBI cyber taskforce and providing cybersecurity content through Forbes magazine and Global Television.
In this keynote address, Danny will teach you how to protect yourself, your colleagues and your family from the threats and vulnerabilities brought on by cybercrime. You will laugh, learn and be empowered to know you can make a difference.
Post-Pandemic Economy: Sketches of a Possible Future
Later in the afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET, join Douglas Kennedy, Managing Director of the Centre for Global Enterprise at the Schulich School of Business, for a second keynote presentation on the post-pandemic economy.
A year ago, words like ‘COVID-19’ and ‘’K’-shaped recovery’ had not entered the popular lexicon and almost nobody would have predicted the dislocation most national economies have already experienced in 2020. Whatever emerges for business and the economy after the pandemic, it is likely to be quite different than that which prevailed before. What challenges and opportunities will exist for Canadian business in a post-pandemic world?
Examples of the issues to be explored:
• When will economic growth resume and which sectors will likely be winners and which sectors may lose?
• How will unprecedented government borrowing be managed and repaid? What impact will this have on the wider economy?
• Value chains now need to consider issues of resilience and reliability. What can Canadian companies do to insulate themselves?
• New risk factors for business are making themselves felt. What are these and how can they be mitigated?
• COVID-19 has accelerated changes in popular culture, business operations and consumer behaviour. How should Canadian business respond for greatest advantage?
Join this session to help understand where your business is and possibly where you should be taking it.
