The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a wrench into many plans over the past two years including the CHPTA’s plans to host this year the “Canada Night” gala during March’s Inspired Home Show in Chicago (March 5-7) and the “Maple Leaf Night” event held during the National Hardware Show which is taking place this year from April 5-7 in Las Vegas.

Due to continuing health concerns and over-the-border travel difficulties, we have heard that many Canadian vendors, suppliers and retail customers will not be attending these shows this year or are still undecided. This has made the planning for and financial risk of conducting these types of social networking events too difficult to proceed with.   Therefore, the CHPTA has unfortunately had to make the decision to postpone them for 2022.

However, the CHPTA looks forward to attending these major trade shows next year and hosting “Canada Night” events for Canadian vendors and retailers. The Association was pleased to hear that the 2023 National Hardware Show will be held in conjunction with the KBIS and IBS Shows from January 31st to February 2nd in Las Vegas and plans are already in the works to put on a networking event or two for Canadians attending the show.
