Do it Best and United Hardware are set to merge, aiming to enhance scale, efficiency, and innovation in the home improvement industry. The merger will create one of the industry’s largest cooperatives, allowing United Hardware to better serve its members and help them succeed in the marketplace.
The merger has been approved by both companies’ boards of directors, and United Hardware shareholders will vote on the merger in the coming weeks. Do it Best President & CEO Dan Starr believes that the merger is not just a merger, but a declaration of their belief in the power of the co-op model, focusing on partnership, mutual growth, and shared success. The merger is expected to change the industry’s landscape for the better.
“We are embarking on a significant milestone in our journey as a cooperative that will change our future for the good,” said Chad Ruth, president and CEO of United Hardware, home of the Hardware Hank brand.
