The Association recognizes the importance of education, and therefore encourages children of employees of our association member companies to attend university or college. To help offset the cost of a post-secondary education, the CHPTA has been pleased to offer a Scholarship Program.

The CHPTA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Scholarship Program recipients for the year 2021. The finalists were chosen by weighted ballot draw and this year we are pleased to award two scholarships:

Sophia Carreiro – Toronto, Ontario

Sophia is the daughter of Danny Carreiro who works for The Hillman Group Canada.

Sophia Carreiro will be studying at the University of Toronto – Mississauga in the humanities program, majoring in history and geography with the goal of becoming a secondary school teacher.

Dylan Myers – Toronto, Ontario

Dylan is the son of John Myers who works for TTI Canada Inc.

Dylan will be attending McGill University this fall and will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

The CHPTA would like to thank everyone who applied for this year’s scholarships and would like to congratulate and wish this year’s recipients well with their upcoming studies. Since 2001, the CHPTA has awarded $205,000 towards scholarships and some 105 young people have benefited from the program.
